Following Royal Bank of Scotland's disclosure of more than 40 job cuts in Stamford scheduled for mid-May, the Wall Street Journal reported that UBS is negotiating to lease space in the RBS building opposite its own on Washington Boulevard in Stamford. Last fall, UBS listed its building at 677 Washington Boulevard for lease, with the Stamford Advocate first reporting earlier this year that RBS had informed city officials that it had cut its Stamford workforce to 1,600 people, down from 2,400 a year earlier.
