Masked Gunmen Invade Stamford Home

Two masked gunmen awoke the owners of a Fairfield Avenue home early Sunday in what Stamford Police describe as a home invasion. "At approximately 6:25 a.m. Nov. 2, two black males wearing masks and armed with guns entered the second-floor residence of 293 Fairfield Ave. The homeowners were awakened to find the two men attempting to get into several rooms on the second floor," police said in a statement Sunday afternoon.

Glen Cove man struck and killed by car in Connecticut, police say

A Glen Cove teen was killed early Saturday morning when he was struck by a car while trying to help a driver stranded on the side of the road, Connecticut state police said. Derian Garaicoa-Ortega, 18, had pulled over to help a stranded driver on southbound Interstate 95 just north of Exit 6 in Stamford, Connecticut when he was hit by the vehicle, state police said.

Man Killed in Four-Car Crash on I-95 in Stamford

Connecticut State Police are investigating a four-car crash on I-95 in Stamford that killed a Long Island, NY man and injured four others early Saturday, according to a report. State Police told WTNH that the victim had pulled over to help people whose car had broken down in the right lane of southbound I-95 near Exit 6, just before 2:30 a.m. Nov. 1. Three good samaritans and one occupant of the broken down vehicle were standing behind one of the cars when a car traveling in the right lane crashed into the broken down car, according to the report.
