STAMFORD, Conn. The Avon Theatre, along with Audubon Connecticut and the Stamford Land Conservation, is showing "Pelican Dreams" with a post-film discussion with environmental education specialist and naturalist Ted Gilman on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. In a story of friendship, survival and the spirit of flight, filmmaker Judy Irving follows a wayward, starving California brown pelican from her "arrest" on the Golden Gate Bridge into care at a wildlife rehabilitation facility, and from there explores pelicans' nesting grounds, Pacific coast migration and survival challenges.
