Stamford Woman Avoids Being Swindled Out Of Thousands In Craigslist Scam

A 25-year-old woman narrowly avoided losing thousands of dollars in a rental scam on Craigslist.com, Stamford Police said. Sgt. Kelly Connelly said the complainant answered a Craigslist ad about a lease at a Washington Boulevard apartment building and was told to deposit $2,800 into the landlord's account at Wells Fargo by a woman.
