Stamford teen charged with attempted robbery

An attempted robbery with a BB gun on Stamford's West Side late Thursday night led to three juveniles and an adult being arrested after a man was shot four times with the pellets. Kevin Diaz , 18, of High Street, was charged with second-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, attempted armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and carrying a dangerous weapon.

Helping children cope with poverty through service

Man gets 17 years for slashing ex and new boy friend

A former Stamford man convicted in November of using a knife to slash the mother of his young daughter and the woman's new boyfriend was accused at his sentencing Friday of putting a hit out on the two before being sent to prison for 17 years. Angered by the long sentence for something he claims he did not do, Divenson Petion, 27, repeatedly asked Judge Gary White when he would be able to see his 4-year-old daughter and was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs by judicial marshals without receiving an answer.

A potentially historic storm is approaching Fairfield County with some snow possibly starting as early as Monday morning with the heaviest snow and winds expected Monday night through Tuesday with a Blizzard Warning issued by the National Weather Service.
