08/09/10 More Bad News For Greenwich Millionaire Ned Lamont's Failing Senatorial Campaign

The Millionaire Emperor Has No Clothes ....

Ned Lamont Is Furiously Flushing Money Down The Toilet As More Bad News Keeps Rolling In From The Pollsters At Quinnipiac University

Hartford Courant

Quinnipiac Poll: Ned Lamont Up By 3 Points, But Too Close To Call Vs. Dannel Malloy In Democratic Primary Tuesday

The latest Quinnipiac Poll shows that Democrat Ned Lamont is ahead by 3 percentage points over former Stamford Mayor Dannel Malloy, but the race is too close to call because the margin of error is plus or minus 4.6 percentage points......

.... Both Republicans and Democrats also say that Lamont suffered a setback when he initially refused to debate Malloy in the final weeks of the race in a one-on-one, televised debate .....

....The poll of likely Democratic voters shows Lamont ahead by 45 percent to 42 percent, which is closer than the 45 to 40 lead that he had last week. Overall, 30 percent of those polled said they could still change their minds before Tuesday's vote, and 12 percent said they were still undecided.

"The poll reflects what we're seeing and hearing every day on the campaign trail: Dan's got the momentum,'' said Dan Kelly, Malloy's campaign manager.....

....As multi-millionaires from Greenwich, both Lamont and Foley have enough money to air commercials in the highly expensive New York City television market. That is part of their strategy to reach voters in lower Fairfield County as the New York stations are beamed from Greenwich to Bridgeport and beyond. Many candidates are unable to afford New York television, and some believe it is a waste of money as the commercials are often seen by viewers in places like Brooklyn and Long Island who cannot vote in Connecticut. But Lamont, Foley, and U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon are all broadcasting commercials on the New York stations.

"It's really the only way to reach a broad audience in Fairfield County because 35 percent of the Republicans are in Fairfield County,'' Foley said in an interview. "We think it's a good investment for the general election.''

Foley said Saturday that he believed that Lamont has an advantage over Malloy because of the New York City commercials, but he agreed that the race is getting much tighter.

"It could be a jump ball, and he's up in New York and Malloy isn't, so it's his to lose,'' Foley said

$9,118,582.14
That’ s the amount that Ned Lamont has spent so far on his Gubernatorial primary campaign.
As Dan campaigns across the state, voters are making their choice. They are making a decision based on values and experience. They are choosing which candidate can lead from day one, and who can help turn Connecticut around. They are choosing which candidate can fight for the middle class, protect our seniors, and make this state great again. They are choosing Dan.
Connecticut Isn't Buying It
Ned feels it, and knows that if voters make a choice based on values and experience, Dan wins. His response? Pour in money. As voters learn more about Dan and Ned, they are supporting Dan in droves. Ned realizes that, and just last week alone, put in $1,750,000 of his family’s money.
Help us fight back. Your help can make sure that this is an election, not an auction. Join our election day team today.
Ned enjoyed a lead when the campaign was about money, when his millions helped him campaign in a vacuum, before voters could make a choice based on both candidates values and experience. Once Dan had the resources and grassroots support to make this a race about values and experience, Ned’s lead has evaporated. Dan is in a position to win.
Help us finish strong and get the message out these final days. Please sign up today to join our election day team, and volunteer one time .
Sincerely,
Dan Kelly

08/09/10 Hey Stamford Voters, You Have Got 48 Hours To Nominate A Ron Paul Endorsed Candidate

48 Hours to nominate a Ron Paul Endorsed Candidate

Stamford Feiends,

There are 48 hours left until my Republican Primary on August 10th. Time is short, but I know we are on the verge of defeating my moderate primary opponent. On Tuesday I will need your help to get people out to the polls to cast a vote for liberty. As you can see in this video the grass-roots movement in Connecticut is on the verge of propelling me to an upset victory.

With your financial contribution today, we can ensure that our work over the last six months pays off on Tuesday. If my Republican-In-Name-Only primary opponent wins, in November he will seek to replace a liberal Democrat with a liberal Republican. My primary opponent will still vote for bailouts, mandates, and continued federal intrusion into our lives. But we have a choice, with your support today you can send someone who is ready, willing, and able to defend liberty to the US Congress. I will stand with Congressman Paul and other true Conservatives in our shared fight to restore the Constitution and push back our increasingly tyrannical government.

Last week you helped me raise $7,459 toward my $10,000 goal. I am asking you to help me close that gap and reach our goal by raising another $3,000 before Tuesday. Your support is invaluable. Your donation of $50, $100, $500, or more will go to help pay for ads and phone calls to remind Republicans to vote for me on Tuesday. Thank you for your continued support.

Video: Rick Torres pledges to fight progressivism and moderation

Stamford Friends,

There are 5 days until the Republican Primary on August 10th. Time is short, but I know we are on the verge of defeating my primary opponent. Should I win with your help it will be one of the biggest upsets in CTGOP history. I released a new video demonstrating my Conservative principles and the moderate views of my 'Republican-In-Name-Only' opponent.

Your support is invaluable. Together over the last day we have raised $4,835 toward our $10,000 goal. It is imperative that I meet my goal by raising another $6,000 by 4:00 PM tomorrow so that we can commit those resources effectively to get out the vote.

I need 6,000 to 8,000 votes to win my primary. Every dollar you donate today will go directly to motivating voters to turnout and cast a vote for liberty. Over the last week I have received the endorsements of the Honorable Ron Paul, the Republican Liberty Caucus and Pro-Life State Rep. T.R. Rowe.

Help me maintain my momentum to win this primary with a donation of $50, $100, $500, or more. Thank you for your continued support.

08/02/10 BREAKING NEWS: Hearst Newspapers Picks Stamford Resident And Lt Gov Mike Fedele Over Millionaire Tom Foley In Republican Primary For Governor

CT Post Says Tom Foley "Brings Some Unpleasant Baggage To The Race"

Photo: Republican gubernatorial candidate and Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele

Connecticut Post Says Fedele The Choice Among Republicans

Lt. Gov. Michael Fedele has the combination of government and business experience that, given the chance to serve in the No. 1 seat, would be good for the state of Connecticut.

The Connecticut Post endorses his candidacy in the Aug. 10 Republican three-way primary.

The 55-yearold Fedele brings 10 years of legislative experience, serving in the state House of Representatives from 1992 to 2002, and three years in his current position.

But Fedele is also a self-made businessman and understands that job creation is the top challenge to the state.

Fedele understands in no uncertain terms that improving the atmosphere in Connecticut for small business is essential to turning around the state's economy.

His stand against any new taxes speaks to his understanding of the situation.

We compliment him for his position.

Given his experience, Fedele is confident solutions to the state's problems of spending and borrowing can be resolved through good management, and not through new taxes.Though Fedele has been part of the Rell administration ... well, that in some respects sums it up.

It was indeed the Rell administration, and if anyone can name a Connecticut lieutenant governor who shaped policy from that office, we'd be curious to know who it was.

Fedele rightly says he can be held accountable only for those areas in which he had authority.

He's been an effective ambassador for the state, recruiting business and reaching out to the Henkel Corporation, manufacturer of Loctite adhesive products and successfully encouraging them to consolidate operations in Rocky Hill.

Fedele also figured in the move of Columbia Elevators from New York to Bridgeport.

We also applaud Oz Griebel, another candidate in the GOP primary, for his passion and clear commitment to improving the business climate in the state.

And Tom Foley brings a business background as well. But he also brings some unpleasant baggage to the race.

But Fedele earns our endorsement. We believe he's the best of the three choices to lead the state.
