Stamford bank robber to get seven years in jail

A convicted felon who used a fake gun to rob a bank and later tried to set up a suicide-by-cop scenario pleaded guilty to armed robbery Wednesday. Francesco "Frankie" Pensiero , 42, will be sentenced to seven years in jail when he returns to the Stamford courthouse on June 3. Pensiero made the guilty plea before Judge Richard Comerford under the Alford Doctrine, because he does not agree with all of the state's facts of the case or admit his guilt, but conceded that the state has enough evidence to convict him at trial.
