Gov. Dannel Malloy , who's in a tight race for reelection, came out swinging Friday at the Stamford Chamber of Commerce 's 27th annual meeting, rattling off his accomplishments and highlighting his management over the state's finances, where he achieved four years of budget surpluses after dealing with a $3.6 billion deficit when he took office. Malloy, who had to cut his presentation short to travel to Bridgeport to survey the impact of a devastating fire on Thursday night, touted his record in working to improve the state's transportation system, commenting that under his leadership, Connecticut has spent $500 million in the effort.
