A Bronx, N.Y. woman known as the "Lazy Eye Bandit" was about to plead guilty to a first-degree larceny charge when a Stamford judge stopped the plea hearing because he said the woman was not listening to him. Cheryl Townes , 55, had just made the guilty plea when Judge Richard Comerford stopped the hearing, saying she did not appear to be in a mood to listen to him as he was asking her if accepting a three-year jail sentence instead of taking her case to trial was something she wanted to do.
