Stamford's 'Patty-cake' burglar gets 10 years-plus in jail

A Stamford man with a nursery rhyme nickname whose life has become a cautionary criminal tale was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years and six months in jail for his 28th burglary conviction. Clarence "Patty-cake" Patterson, 54, a lifelong Stamford resident and thief with burglary convictions stretching from as far away as Tallahassee, Fla., got nearly the maximum sentence from a state Superior Court judge because of his lengthy criminal record.
