Both tycoon John Malone , Liberty Media's chairman and founder, and the company's CEO, Greg Maffei , are on the board of Stamford, Connecticut-based cable TV company Charter Communications Inc. That makes it unlike other companies in which Liberty owns a stake or has spun off.
