East Side man charged in Stamford car theft

An East Side man found in possession of some car keys that had been robbed from a man early Saturday morning was charged with returning to the robbery victim's apartment complex and stealing his car, police said. Alvin Newton , 20, of 40 Lawn Ave., Stamford, was charged with first-degree larceny and is being held in lieu of a $75,000 court appearance bond.
