Nearly half of Americans plan to shop online earlier this holiday season to avoid the possibility of gifts arriving late, a new survey shows. According to a survey of 1,000 adults conducted by ORC International for Stamford-based Pitney Bowes, 49 percent of respondents expect to be going online earlier than in past years to find that special gift.
