The family of the Stamford woman who was fatally shot in her car when she apparently tried to avoid security checkpoints in Washington, D.C., will mark the first anniversary of her death with a protest on Friday at the site where she was killed. According to The Advocate , Miriam Carey's older sister Valarie Carey said in a news release, "One year after Miriam Carey was shot to death by government officials, the Carey family and supporters are participating in a silent protest.
