Stamford carjacking gets Bridgeport man five years

A Bridgeport defendant charged in November 2013 with carjacking after his victim drove into a Stamford DUI checkpoint and told police he was being held at knifepoint by his passenger, was sentenced to five years in jail. Michael Banks , 24, of Sage Avenue, Bridgeport, appeared briefly at state Superior Court in Stamford Friday, where he was sentenced by Judge Richard Comerford after making a guilty plea in October to a charge kidnapping and admitting to violating his probation.
