With the winter storm warning in effect starting Sunday night and continuing into Monday, the City of Stamford has announced that Monday garbage and recycling pickups will be postponed. Mayor David Martin announced Sunday morning that Monday pickups will be delayed until Tuesday and that the city's warming centers will be open for residents who need shelter during the storm that's expected to bring heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain.
