Rejecting Affordable Housing Speeds Connecticut's Decline

Many residents of Westport breathed a sigh of relief earlier this month as the Westport Inn, a two-story hotel, was sold to a Stamford-based real estate investment group that plans to maintain it as an inn. The future of the Inn had become a flash point after plans were reported late last summer to develop it into a rental housing complex with 30 percent of the units set aside for affordable housing.
