Stamford charter school has applications, but no building

After a tumultous introduction to the city that involved heated public exchanges and the threat of a lawsuit, a Bronx charter school is on track to open its doors in September, according to a spokesman for the Stamford Charter School for Excellence . The school aims to open in early to mid-September, and has already started accepting applications, Phipps said, qualifying that it was "a soft launch," pending the announcement of the school's location.
