Following Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's statements this week calling for a discussion regarding tolls to fund transportation projects, legislators say they're willing to listen, but remain reticent about approving tolls. In the wake of Malloy's expressed opinion about tolls, some area legislators said the governor is right to try to foster a more open climate to discuss road fees to manage congestion and fund upgrades to the Metro-North New Haven Line, as well as state highways and bridges in need of replacement and repair, said state Rep. William Tong, who represents Stamford and New Canaan.
