The former treasurer of the Stamford Historical Society who was arrested in connection with the embezzlement of $20,100 from the nonprofit, wants to participate in the state's accelerated rehabilitation program that would erase the charge from his record if he successfully completes the program. On Thursday, Donald Huppert, 72, of Stamford, appeared with attorney Mariella Krowka at state Superior Court in Stamford and submitted his accelerated rehabilitation application to Judge Richard Comerford, according to The Advocate.
