McRedmond was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Stamford, to Jean and Bernard McRedmond Sr. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School and was a 1960 industrial electronics graduate from J.M. Wright Technical School. After his marriage he moved to Danbury.
