David Laventhol, a former editor and publisher for Times Mirror newspapers, died Wednesday at the age of 81. Laventhol was the group vice president of the company's Eastern Division when it owned The Advocate of Stamford and Greenwich Time. Laventhol was a longtime employee of Times Mirror, and the publisher for the company from September 1989 until January 1994.
