Stamford school board members react to new investigation plan

The announcement on Monday that the city's law department hired an outside law firm to investigate failures to report suspicions of a sexual relationship at Stamford High School city received a largely positive response from Board of Education members, though the reaction was not a unified one. The purpose of the investigation and who would conduct it has evolved since Dec. 2, when the Board of Education's lawyer stated that only Superintendent Winifred Hamilton had the power to determine whether the two Stamford High administrators arrested and charged in the case were granted a probationary program and asked for the jobs back.
