A man with a long criminal history was sentenced Thursday to 14 months in jail for helping beat a man with a pipe in a dispute over an $80 debt. Jeffrey Rowell , 51, of 25 Hazel St., Stamford, made a guilty plea to a reduced charge of second-degree larceny on Thursday and was sentenced to jail.
