Stamford Duo Arrested After Shippan Vehicle Break-Ins

A pair of Stamford men are facing charges of breaking into a number of cars in the Shippan neighborhood where the affluent residents often help thieves by leaving their vehicles unlocked with valuables inside, police said. Jeffrey Mark Vlash, 40, of 2987 High Ridge Road, and Clifton Stephens, 55, of 138 Lafayette St., are each charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, sixth degree conspiracy to commit larceny, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
